APK-2N and APK-3N catalysts are used to remove NO from the waste gases of the nitric acid production unit.

 

The APK-2N catalyst is a metallic palladium supported on an alumina cylindrical carrier by means of complete impregnation.

 

The APK-3N catalyst is a metallic palladium supported on alumina cylindrical carrier by means of cortical impregnation.It contains only 0.5% of palladium, due to very small thickness of the active layer, but its activity is not less than that of catalysts with large Pd content.

 

High resistance of the support to abrasion, low dusting, high specific surface area and high thermal stability allow to increase the catalyst run almost twice.

 

The ignition temperature (operating temperature of the gas to be purified at the reactor inlet) is not more than 480 °C, at a volume ratio of methane / oxygen of 0.55 ÷ 0.60 at the reactor inlet, nitrogen oxides content in the purified gas in terms of NO2 is not more than 0.005 vol. %, CO content is not more than 0.15 vol. % during the entire run.
